Welcome to Social Impact Career Advisors ("SICA," "we," "our," "us"). By accessing or using our website and services, you ("you," "user," "Seeker," or "Advisor") agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our site.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use SICA.
By using the site, you represent that you have the authority and capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. Use of the Site
You agree to use SICA for lawful purposes only.
You may not misuse the site for spamming, harassment, commercial solicitation, or unlawful activity.
SICA may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
3. Nature of the Services
SICA connects Seekers (individuals seeking career guidance in social impact and CSR) with Advisors (independent professionals in the CSR field who provide career guidance through scheduled conversations). Advisors are not employees or contractors of SICA.
SICA is a platform for information-sharing only. We do not verify, warrant, or guarantee the accuracy of advice or information given by Advisors.
SICA does not guarantee employment, internships, or professional outcomes of any kind.
4. Payments and Refunds
Payments for SICA sessions are processed at the time of booking.
All payments are non-refundable, except in cases where an Advisor must cancel a scheduled session and a suitable reschedule cannot be arranged.
In such cases, SICA may, at its discretion, issue a full refund to the Seeker.
SICA is not responsible for missed sessions, technical difficulties, or schedule conflicts on the part of the Seeker.
By booking a session, you acknowledge and agree to this refund policy.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the SICA site, except for user-generated content, is owned by SICA.
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute site content without written permission.
6. Privacy
Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy [link].
Advisors and Seekers are expected to respect each other’s personal information and not disclose it without permission.
7. Disclaimer of Liability
SICA and its Advisors provide information and guidance for educational purposes only.
SICA makes no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or outcomes of any advice or information exchanged.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SICA disclaims all liability for any loss or damages arising from your use of the site or services.
8. Termination
SICA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the site for violations of these Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10. Additional Terms for Seekers
You acknowledge that guidance from Advisors is general and not a substitute for professional services such as legal, financial, or medical advice.
You agree to communicate respectfully and professionally with Advisors.
You may not solicit Advisors for unrelated business opportunities, sales, or personal gain.
You are responsible for your own career decisions and outcomes.
11. Additional Terms for Advisors
You acknowledge that your role with SICA involves providing guidance in exchange for modest compensation for each conversation with a Seeker.
You agree to provide general guidance and mentorship, not professional services.
You may not solicit Seekers for your own business, recruiting, or other personal gain.
You agree to keep Seeker information confidential unless you have explicit permission to share it.
Your advice and views are your own; SICA is not responsible for them.
12. Code of Conduct
All users of SICA, including Seekers and Advisors, agree to uphold the following standards:
Respect and Professionalism
Treat all participants with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language or behavior.
Commitment and Reliability
Show up on time for scheduled conversations and honor commitments.
Provide advance notice if you must reschedule or cancel.
Appropriate Boundaries
Keep interactions focused on career development and guidance.
Do not use SICA to solicit unrelated business, products, or services.
Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
AI Notetaking and Recording
To ensure privacy and open dialogue, the use of AI notetakers, transcription tools, or any form of automated recording during Advisor-Seeker conversations is prohibited.
Neither Seekers nor Advisors may record or transcribe sessions using AI or other tools without the explicit consent of all participants and SICA.
Seekers are encouraged to take their own notes manually during or immediately after the call to capture key takeaways.
Confidentiality
Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal or professional information without explicit permission.
Integrity and Good Faith
Seekers: Approach conversations with openness, curiosity, and gratitude.
Advisors: Provide guidance in good faith, recognizing that outcomes are the responsibility of the Seeker.
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of access to SICA.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from your use of SICA will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be handled through mediation in the State of Maryland.
Acceptance
By creating an account or using SICA, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including the Code of Conduct.
